Got up and ran for 30 minutes this morning through the streets of central London - taking in Covent Garden, Whitehall, the Mall, Trafalgar Square a lovely three and half miles or so......

This is a blog focussed on running. It represents a commitment I made whilst watching a friend run Boston Marathon on April 21, to be on the starting line in 12 months time. I am not new to running having run four marathons in the last five years, with a personal record of 3 hours 44 minutes. But, to achieve a place at Boston I need to post a time of 3 hours 30 mins within the next eight months. Most of my training will be done in Rutland, the smallest County in the UK.
